Code 95 is required for truck drivers who want to work professionally in Europe. It is also mandatory for drivers from Ukraine and other countries that are not part of the EU.

Costs
Professional driving skills are becoming increasingly crucial in a world where there is a great value on transport for both economic activities and for the movement of people and goods. However, gaining this skill isn't affordable. It is necessary to be aware of a range of costs, including the cost of training and the exam. In the Netherlands, obtaining Code 95 may cost as nearly 3000 euros. Fortunately, the expenses associated with acquiring this certificate are much lower in Poland where they can be as low as 1500 to 2000 PLN.
In Europe truck drivers need the Code 95 Certificate to drive trucks that weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. The certificate is valid for five years and must be added to the driver's license category C or C+E. The certificate can be added to C1 or C1E licences, which allows the driver to use lighter trailer combinations.
You must be able to pass a psychological test as well as a medical examination to receive a Code 95 Certificate. After completing the course, you will receive an official plastic Code 95 certificate that can be added to your driving licence. The price of the course includes a medical examination, PKZ service, payment for the plastic Code 95 certificate, and theoretical lessons.
The cost of a Code 95 certificate is similar to the cost of other types of driving courses. Additionally, it is important to note that this course has to be conducted at an accredited driving school recognized by the CBR. Trainers must adhere to strict CBR procedures. Trainers must notify the CBR when, for instance the student is absent.
After the course, the trainee must go to the Road Traffic Safety Directorate to apply for a new licence. The deadline to replace the license is six months from the time the course was completed. This requirement is intended to ensure that the driver is at the required level of expertise and knowledge required to operate a heavy vehicle. In addition the driver must be able to read the kilometer and speed limit signs on the road.
Training options
Code 95 is a proof on your driving license that you have fulfilled the training requirements to drive trucks and buses professionally. This is a condition you must meet every five years to renew your permit. The periodical training requires 35 hours of instruction and can be taken at the driving school or at home (e-learning). It is possible to spread out the course over a five-year time frame. Your employer may cover the cost of the courses.
There are two kinds of training for Code 95: the long course and the shorter course. The long course is about four weeks and concludes with a governmental test. After passing the exam, you will be issued an ID card in plastic. The card has to be submitted to the unified European certificate database. The institution where you attended classes will then submit the card to the database. The card will be processed within 14 days.
The course will cost you approximately 2,000 PLN, while the exam is 300 PLN. You'll need to pay an additional fee to the school for them to submit your certificate into the unified European database. Once the card has been created and you are able to collect it from the school.
To be able offer an educational course that is able to issue Code 95, you must adhere to certain guidelines as trainer. First, you must submit a plan of training to the CBR. The training plan must be approved prior the beginning of classes. You must also follow other strict procedures throughout the course.
You will receive a certificate from the CBR after you completed the course successfully. You can then send this to the RDW. You will then be able renew your license with the municipality once you have submitted it successfully. If you do not renew your license prior to the expiration date, you are not able to operate trucks or buses professionally for more than 12 hours per week. You'll need to complete another training course if you would like to drive for more than 12 hours per week.
Exams
You must pass both the theory and practical tests in order to obtain the code 95 on your license. These exams can be taken separately or as part of the acquisition of a basic category license at a driving academy. Upon successful completion of the exams, you will receive a certificate as well as a code 95 card. The card is valid for 5 years and has to be renewed prior to the expiration date.
Depending on the course of study, you can take short or long courses for the code 95 exam. The long course is about four weeks and ends with a governmental exam. In this test, you are asked to answer 30 questions on the topics covered in your classes.
You must complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years after passing the code 95 examination. You can do this in the country you reside in or work. The instructor will conduct the periodic training. The CBR provides an online tool to locate a teacher. Once you have completed the course, you will receive an official certificate from your instructor and the CBR. The CBR will notify the RDW of your successful completion.
You must also have a digital tachograph for vehicles that weigh more than 3,500kg. The tachograph records the driving times and rest times and saves them to a tachograph card. The most popular driving license in Europe is the prawo jazdy Kat C-license. In the Netherlands, the requirement is that you pass the initial qualification for professional drivers at the Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, or CBR, in Dutch). You must also have a medical examination.
You also need a driving licence C or D for buses as well as passenger cars. The requirements for bus drivers are different than those for trucks and passenger cars, since they must pass a written exam and an oral exam. They must also have an official code85, which is a professional certificate.
Requirements

In addition, you will be able take various online checking tasks and tests.
If you wish to transport dangerous items, you will have to complete an additional ADR driver training course (18-hours). This will give you the five-year ADR driver training certificate. This is required for all professional drivers of vehicles that carry dangerous goods.
In 2011, a new style of license for trucks and buses was introduced. The licence is laminated similar to the European driving licence, with the bearer's picture as well as their name (in Latin and Cyrillic scripts) the date of issue, the place/place as well as categories that are allowed and signature.
